How much Medical Marijuana can you grow if you have a Nevada Medical Marijuana Card?

Nevada approves the use of medical marijuana for AIDS, cachexia, cancer, glaucoma, post traumatic stress disorder, muscle spasms, seizures, nausea, and pain.
If you have a valid Nevada Medical Marijuana card, you are permitted to grow your 6 plants if:
· You have a valid Nevada Medical Marijuana Card or your designated caregiver and the Cannabis Dispensaries in your county close or are unable to supply the quantity or strain of Medical Marijuana necessary for the medical use to treat your specific medical condition;
· Because your illness or lack of transportation and you hold a valid Nevada Medical Marijuana Card and you and your caregiver are unable to reasonably travel to a Medical Marijuana Dispensary.
Keep in mind that some of these exceptions may have to be proven in court if you are arrested, cited or charges have been filed against you, which can be costly and risky. Furthermore, Nevada law on Medical Marijuana is constantly changing so you should always ensure you are compliant.
If you don’t have a Medical Marijuana Card in Nevada, you run the risk of getting in trouble- especially if the cops think you are selling it. Nevada has mandatory minimum jail time for selling and growing any type of Marijuana, so if you are able to be licensed as a patient or caregiver, it is definitely worth the effort.
Growing any kind of Marijuana without a Nevada Medical Cannabis License in this state is risky. Those that grow any type of Marijuana in Nevada could face a year or more in prison if they grow without a Nevada Medical Marijuana Card. Possessing anything over 2 ounces isn’t considered personal use, growing more then 6 plants may get you mistaken for a drug dealer. Patients who have been approved by a Las Vegas Marijuana Doctor should keep small and discrete home grow operations. .
Cultivating recreational weed without a Nevada Medical Marijuana Card and Grow Endorsement from a Nevada Marijuana Doctor is illegal.
With a Nevada Medical Marijuana Card and Grow Endorsement, no household may have more than 12 plants total.
The plants must be located in an enclosed space such as a room, greenhouse, or closet. The space must have a lock or security apparatus. And the plants cannot be visible to the public. If the grower is not the property owner, the grower must get the owner’s permission.4
3.1. Penalties
Growing more than the 12-plant maximum is a category E felony. Category E felony convictions carry probation and a suspended sentence, with a possible sentence of up to 1 year in jail. (But if the defendant has two or more prior felony convictions, the court may order one to four years of Nevada State Prison and a maximum of $5,000 in fines.)
The penalties for unlawfully growing weed within 25 miles of a licensed dispensary increase with each conviction:
